Invisalign Aligners
Getting a straight, healthy smile no longer means everyone needs to wear metal braces. With Invisalign clear aligners, many orthodontic issues can be corrected without wearing metal on your teeth for two or more years. These clear aligners are discrete, more comfortable and often can get the results you want in less time. At Amber Hills Dental, we have Invisalign aligners for our adult and teen patients as an alternative to metal braces.
More and more adults are choosing to straighten their smiles. Whether they did not have braces as a teen or their teeth shifted as they aged, orthodontic treatments are commonly sought after to improve crooked teeth and other issues. However, the thought of wearing metal braces is not appealing to adults that have professional careers or a busy social life. Invisalign is perfect for adults, with almost invisible aligners that allow them to discretely change their smile. There are fewer visits to the dentist for adjustments; you just need new aligners every few weeks to progressively shift your teeth and bite into place.
Invisalign Teen
Wearing metal braces is a rite of passage that many teens would rather not endure. With Invisalign, many teens do not need to wear traditional braces. They can have the same comfort as adult Invisalign wearers, with aligners that can be removed to eat their favorite foods and to perform their oral hygiene. No restrictions on popcorn or other foods that teens love. Just take the aligners out for meals or snacks – as long as they are worn 20-22 hours per day, they can still get the results needed.
While not everyone is a good candidate for Invisalign, most of the common orthodontic issues can be corrected using these devices. Contact Amber Hills Dental today to find out if you or your teen can benefit from using Invisalign to straighten your smile.

Invisalign FAQs
What is the Invisalign process?
Once it is decided that Invisalign clear aligners will be the best orthodontic treatment option for you, impressions of your teeth will be taken so your first set of clear aligners can be created. We will make sure that your aligners fit properly and then you will be asked to wear them as often as possible, or any time you are not eating or brushing your teeth, so your treatment plan can remain on track. Once your treatment is complete, we will create a retainer for you to wear at night so your teeth can remain perfectly straight!
Can you eat while wearing Invisalign retainers?
You should not eat or drink anything besides water while wearing clear aligners. This is because chewing while wearing aligners can stain, damage, or even break them. It would also prove difficult and uncomfortable, and you would have to take them out to clean them afterward anyway. One of the main benefits of utilizing Invisalign clear aligners is that they are removable, so you are free to continue your normal eating habits during your Invisalign treatment, as long as you take them out before you eat.
Do clear aligners stain?
Clear aligners can become stained if they are not cleaned regularly, which is all the more reason to make sure you are cleaning your clear aligners frequently and properly. Since Invisalign involves wearing a series of aligners that are thrown away and replaced every two weeks, your aligners should remain clear and stain-free during your treatment as long as you take care of them.
Is Invisalign expensive?
It used to be that clear aligners were much more expensive than metal braces and only for patients with mild orthodontic issues, but over the years, Invisalign and other brands have come down in price and updated their technology to help patients with a wider range of orthodontic problems. Braces are often at least partially covered by insurance, and Amber Hills Dental also accepts payment plans through CareCredit®, which can make the upfront costs of clear aligners more feasible and budget-friendly.
