First Visit
We want your first visit as a new patient to Amber Hills Dental to be spectacular. When you leave, we hope you are smiling, glad that you finally found a dental office that makes you feel welcome and appreciated. That is our goal, from the time you call to make your appointment until we send you on your way with a complimentary beverage. Here is what you can expect the first time you come in for a cleaning and checkup.
First, we will need to check you in and make sure we have everything we need to process your insurance. We also need your medical history and other information. Much of this can be provided by you before your visit. If you fill out the online new patient forms, that can save time during your first visit. Once we have everything we need, we will alert the dental team that you are ready for your appointment. We strive to keep wait times as minimal as possible, but feel free to use our computer lab or charging station while you wait.
During Your Appointment
Generally, you will first see our hygienist to begin your appointment. We will get your x-rays up-to-date so Dr. Villamayor can identify any issues going on beneath the surface. Our hygienist will do an inspection of your gum health to determine if there are any signs of gingivitis or periodontal issues. A thorough professional cleaning will be performed, removing any plaque or tartar.
Once the hygienist is through, you will meet with Dr. Villamayor. She will complete a comprehensive exam of your mouth and teeth. After she is done, she will discuss your oral health and recommend any treatments that are necessary. This is also a good time to ask any questions you may have about the treatments she suggests or other services you are interested in. If you are interested in any cosmetic or restorative options, she can explain what we have available and what would be the best solutions to get the results you desire.
After you are finished with your appointment, our front office staff will process any payments or insurance information needed. We will also set up your next appointment for any treatments.
